Roy Agustus Vs. Kelvin Ramnath
Sometimes you may be tempted to think that the term “new politics” means a departure from the old nasty, backbiting, tooth and nail fighting stuff. You’d think so, but you’d be wrong.
The reason I say that is because sometime this past weekend former UNC and current COP member Roy Augustus went to town on Kelvin Ramnath. Now I agree that Kelvin Ramnath is a almost entirely idiot, but what Roy Augustus said was distasteful and completely uncalled for.
I think the incident was largely ignored by the media, but I did hear a clip on Power 102, and for this reason I’m going to have to paraphrase most of what Mr. Augustus said.
“There is a jamette called Kelvin Ramnath. You see that Jamette called Kelvin Ramnath? The last time we were on a panel and he went after my wife.Kelvin Ramnath and I have both been married twice and divorced twice. But the thing that I can say that Kelvin Ramnath can’t say is that all my wives are still alive. (audience cheers loudly and laughs).
Ok you and Kelvin Ramnath don’t get along, but to take a private matter between you and him and bring it onto a political stage cannot in anyway be an example of new politics. Implying that Mr. Ramnath may me responsible for his wives’ deaths makes it even worse. Roy Augustus embarrassed himself and his party. I was hoping that the party would have encouraged Mr. Augustus to issue an apology, but I haven’t heard anything about it yet.

Politics will never change. Instead of competing on issues or quality of service, they prefer to bring each other down like crabs in a barrel. The rest of us vote for the least muddied.
Roy Augustus has never impressed me, and coming from the UNC he is already tarred and feathered. Too many bad habits aquired.
COP might well end up being another party with a morality of its own.

Well I never really paid much attention to him anyway. To me he was always just there in the background. Well I hope it isn’t that the COP has a morality of its own…that’s not the direction they need to be going.

Wow. WOW. That is pretty nasty, and I’ve seen some nasty mud-slinging while watching the politics up here. Very disappointing that it’s coming from the COP. Hopefully he’ll apologize soon. That sort of talk should be left to Panday and Valley — they are the experts.

Ah lawd, is times like these when some of Manning dotish talk is make sense. “We not Sophisticated enough”
Roy win the Dotish Talk of the Month.
Just when I think a party to vote for is the same old BS with a new name. I agree with you Mani his party should have encouraged him to make an apology.

Hold up oh yea of little faith. We need a new party and COP looks like a better alternative thus far. Let’s get real ppl are going to do or say a lot of nasty things and blogs like these make sure they are held accountable. But there will never be a day when we can make sense out of the Mannings’ dotishness (sons included)! NEVER!

LOL, Ed.
D Trini, thanks, I have to agree with Boysie though, we should have a lil fate and give them a chance still.

Oh those class-less fools seem to be all over the place. I don’t follow politics over here because it’s a flippin joke. So forgive me because I cannot remember the woman’s name not what she was running for. But she started making jokes/tasteless comments saying the man she was running up against was gay and the entire room was laughing. What the hell? How about telling the people what you CAN do for us even though that is complete BS too.
It’s a shame a damn shame at that
Again I say, No class
