Windies Crisis

Written on April 2, 2007 – 11:38 am | by Mani |

I want someone to help me understand this West Indies team. Help me understand why our bowling is so bad, why it seems that only some of the batsmen decide that they are going to bat that day.Why does it seem that Chris Gayle needs a batting lesson? And why do some teams look like they have it all figured out while the West Indies look like they are at their first day of school? Three games, three big losses. I know the schedule is compact, but geez.

South Africa, Bangladesh and England are still on the menu, do we still have an appetite?

Appetite is the right word - I don’t think the West Indies want this. They can’t possible want it if they don’t even look like they’re fighting for it. I went to the match in Guyana yesterday, and everything was there for a great day - packed stands for the first time, fans, overcast not blazing sun, great facilities, everything set - except of course for our team. They didn’t seriously try to restrict runs and batted like they were in a Test match (a bad Test match where you bat slow and still lose wickets). Well according o Lara, we still have the slimmest of chances, so I’m still hoping against hope.

Thanks for the link Chennette. Well that’s the thing, I have to wonder sometimes when they’re batting if they know that it’s a ODI they’re playing.

Spice, this World Cup isn’t working out at all, from the Windies playing like crap, Bob Woolmer’s murder, The empty stands….it all leaves a lot to be desired.

Shandy, don’t waste your time reading it nah, lol.

Izatrini, that was a very depressing game to watch, I don’t blame you nah. Lara still sound upbeat though, even if it’s just for our benefit.
