Colm Imbert

Minister of Works and Transport Colm Imbert has revealed that the Government plans to ebmark on a major road repair drive that will pave somewhere between 400 and 500 km of the nations roadways at a cost of about $600 million.

Really? In an election year? How absolutely coincidental.

Allyuh don’t like to listen or what? The man get up in the papers to tell you that this has nothing, NOTHING! to do with elections, and still you acting like it’s not just a coincidence. So cynical. It’s like you all don’t believe in Vision 2020 at all.

On a related note, who are these people whose votes are based on road conditions? “Well, I’m afraid of leaving the house because of crime, but if I DID want to leave the house, the road outside real smooth boy! Vote PNM!” I mean, honestly.

Hmmm, 50 years of party experience and they still clinging to that old William’s trick? No wonder Vision 2020 more like Vision 1960.

Jumbie, well if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it I guess.

But let’s do some math. $600m to fix the upper limit of 500km of road. That’s $1.2m to fix 1km of road. I’m in the wrong business.

Did he say anything about WASA coming to dig up the repaired roads almost immediately after project completion?

    Hey Sherwin,
How about we change careers? I look good in tall boots and a hard hat, we could start a road paving company. I figure we could get some CEPEP workers and pay dem slightly better so dey will want to work for us… then we could still make some money. I doh know bout you, but I want to send my kids to Uni… maybe in Germany.

The IDB gave him $300 Million US dollars. Loan number 093. Under a variable interest rate that we will be paying off for the next 20 years.

YOu know it’s the same kind of thing that goes on over here. Everytime it’s election all of a sudden this one and that one want to do something that should have been done years ago.
And you know what the people fall for this stupidness every single time.

Ed boy, the people who will vote on road conditions will vote for their party regardless yes. I don’t know why Governments pull this kind of crap for.

Jumbie, that’s all they know boy, don’t be too hard on them. By the way, Jumbie, education is free in Germany, which is why Patos sent his boys there.

    Sherwin, lol.You and me both.

Anon, up to now I don’t think Colm said anything about the IDB yuh know. At least none of the dailies reported it.

Atasha, it’s as if nothing else in the last five years mattered at all.

you know Mani, in the US, gasoline prices go down a few months before the election and then two months after the election is over, the prices go up again. now the only problem here is that there are some very very stupid people who fall for the trick time and time again! just the same in tnt.

Vami, I’ve actually heard that the price of gas can weigh heavily on voters’ conscience’s. That’s more than a little strange.
