First of all why and how was she allowed to get into this place where she supposedly had to be 18 for the trip anyways. That should have been verified before they confirmed her as the winner. Secondly her father says she won a trip with him so was he going to let his 14 year old daughter take this so called trip? She was dressed like a grown woman she acted as if the acts that was performed on her weren’t new to her. And she recieved the attention she wanted. How can they think about suing when their daughter was smiling and grinning the whole time a child who is new to this type of stuff wouldnt have been smiling the way she was once the acts started.

ha i just have to laugh i just looked at this video and to be honest the girl is damn wrong to be there she is a little rebel the pastor has no right to defend her she is wrong, as we all know id’s are not checked in trinidad and the girl looks much older than 14.

If you are looking to blame anyone start at home with the girls father!!!!!! She was underage and in a nightclub?!?!?!?!?!? She was dressed like some of the prostitutes I have seen on the BLVD here in MIAMI!!!!!! And like previously mentioned Listen to his lyrics and common sense should allow you to understnad that guess what, THERE MAY BE SOME SEXUAL CONOTATIONS AT A LIVE EVENT!!!!!!!!!!!! Looks like the pastor may need to go over the rights and wrongs again with his poor lil girl. I have seen Live concerts all just the same such as Kieth Sweat, Usher and so on. Akon isnt psychic and couldn’t have had any way of telling she had decided to be wild and sneak in to the show. So lets point in the right direction !!!!!!

First off, the fact that some people are saying that the girl should have "known what she was getting herself into" by going to this concert makes me really angry. It shouldn't be EXPECTED that at these types of concerts, girls and women are just supposed to be fine with being treated like sex objects. What Akon did isn't acceptable at all, to anyone, and it's sad that our society (or at least some of it) just says "well, too bad for her, that's what happens at all those concerts, so it's her fault." It shouldn't be at this point where women can be used and thought of as sex objects and fewer and fewer people see a problem with it.

Second, her age shouldn't matter. Women just shouldn't be demeaned like that, period. Not if they're 14, 24, 34, etc. No one should be demeaned like that. And like I just said, they shouldn't have to expect that they'll be treated like that just because some people don't see anything wrong with being an insensitive sexist pig.

It's true we don't know what she thought about all of this...I personally haven't seen a video of what she was like before or after this "performance," so for all we know she knew what was coming, and was fine with it. Except I doubt that. But even if she was, it's still not okay because no race or gender should have to grow accustomed to being publicly victimized and demeaned CONSTANTLY (just turn on MTV or a rap or hip-hop radio station).

First of all Akons act is completely unacceptable. There is no reason why any man should be allowed to treat a woman or a girl in that manner.
This little girl had no right being in that club. Whoever took her to that club should in some way feel responsible. She is little girl pretending to an adult, but in no way does that mean that that should have a happened to her. Also how many people were there and not one of them thought that they should stop this ANIMAL from literally raping this child.
Akon is not considered a man. A man knows how to respect a woman no matter her actions or attire. Although she was dressed like a hooker (her “preacher” daddy should have stopped her from coming out of the house like that)a woman is a woman and she should be treated as such.

if akon did not know her age, you can’t really blame him on that part. As far as the act, listen to what he sings about. It is not surprising that he would do something like that on stage. you can’t go to 2 live crew concert and act surprised when you see sexual situations going on on the stage. IT’S A 2 LIVE CREW CONCERT!!! you know whats going down when you buy the ticket to the show. this isn’t the first time akon did something like this. He did the same kind of thing with tara reid. she’s of age, so nobody really cared. So, the real issue is the girl’s age. If akon didn’t know the girls age, whose fault is it? Is it akon’s fault or the girl’s fault? i leaning toward the girl and the club owner. The reality of the whole situation is she could have been got off of the stage. One of the pictures shows the girl sitting on top of him, and it doesn’t seem like she was being forced. before it got to that point when she was straddling him, she should’ve left it alone. but her attitude was more like,”ugh, i’mma see where this goes.” The only thing i blame akon for is deception. he said it was a contest and it wasn’t. Although, i think, if he didn’t say it was a contest, seven girls would have still went on the stage just to be in the presence of a celebrity. Was the act nasty? YES! was it demeaning towards women. Hell No! it’s only demeaning towards those seven women who went up on stage and demeaned themselves. akon didn’t demean them. they demeaned themselves just like akon demeaned himself. those six women and one girl demeaned themselves to be in the spotlight, and akon demeaned himself to push his album sells up. being black, i don’t think what akon and those women did make me look bad. i think it makes them look bad. how other black people act doesn’t reflect on me as a person. Anybody who looks at rap videos and gangster movies and thinks that’s what black people are, are prejudice morons and can kiss my ass.
- oh, i almost forgot. that imus situation is totally different from this. imus’s comment was racially charged. He called them nappy headed hoes. What akon did wasn’t racial. akon didn’t treat that girl like a nappy headed hoe, and she didn’t act like a nappy headed hoe (her hair was far from nappy). Akon treated her like a hoe, and she acted like a hoe. you don’t have to be black to be a hoe. there’s white hoes, asian hoes, hispanic hoes, indian hoes, alien hoes. there’s all kinds of hoes. Everyone is to blame...the girl (she knows what she is about), her parents, the club ZEN, Akon (shame on you...legal age or not), society, and one ridiculous statement by an opposition party-man trying to imply the government is to blame.

They (the government) may be to blame for most things...but not this! COME-ON!

It is a real shame that as a minor her real name was used. Her identity should have been protected because it is or should be against the law really to have used her name.

Now I understand it was on FOX news that AKON's contract with some people was terminated. So he will pay the price of his actions. But I think he is the least to blame.

this whole thing seems bizarre… i am sure many soca artistes have done the same (invite women on stage, then preform practically sexual acts!) last year at caribana, i saw a couple dancing and it looked like sex to me ! this girl should not have been in Zen in the first place, she is 14.. so Zen needs to work out their security issues- i agree with the no ID no entry..! rape is a serious issue, and this preformance of akon’s has turned it into just entertainment which is sad… and i agree, her outfit certainly does not scream innocene!

Hotts - well I guess that's the question. The display in Zen is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to our social problems especially those involving minors.

Stephan - I agree with you very much.

Mirissa - Well that's a question that has become the 800lb gorilla in the room. I don't personally go to see soca perfomances or carnival events, so I don't know, but since this began I've heard many say that is very similar to what soca and dub artist do. So with so many people saying it, it may have some truth behind it. So indeed there may be a level of hipocricy here. Yet it may not just be the raunchiness of the perfomnace, or Danah's age. I think it has a lot to do with the brutality of it and they way he threw her around with any care for her own safety. That's the part that got to me.

I agree that her behaviour was despicable and I disagree with her father’s view that she was innocent and needs to be protected. Yes, she was underage and should not have been allowed into Zen. I have to ask, however, is what Akon did any different from what any of our soca artiste do? Is it any different from what our women do for Carnival on the road? Trinidadians and Tobagonians need to stop being hypocritical and look to home first and see what they can do to correct the crap that goes on her before the look to foreigners. The problem for most people really seems to be that a foreigner did that to one of our own,
