My MeToo Phone
I told you all a while back that I was one of three Trinidadians that didn’t own a cell phone. Well that changed about two weeks ago when my uncle decided to send me his old phone because he got a better one. Only yesterday did I find out that what I had was actually a “MeToo” phone”. What’s a MeToo phone? Follow the telephone conversation I had with my 14 year old cousin.

Caris: I thought you told me you didn’t have a phone?
Me: I didn’t, but Uncle Eric sent me his old phone a few weeks ago, so I guess I own one now.
Caris: What kind is it?
Me: A Nokia
Caris: What model number?
Me: Ummmm, it says here it’s an 11….
Caris: 10? An 1110?
Me: Yeah, that’s it.
Caris: Waaaaaay. You have a real MeToo phone boy.
Me: A what sorry?
Caris: A MeToo Phone.
Me: What’s a MeToo Phone?
Caris: Daiz a phone everybody does have. When you tell somebody you have a Nokia 1110, they does say, “Me Too”.
Geez. Just the other day I was rebelling against the cell phone culture and today, I’m a cell phone owner at the bottom of the food chain - the uncoolest of the uncool. Now I need to go get myself a better phone.

I must be have that same phone…well, it looking that way!!..Where do you see the number to know what type it is?…all I am seeing on mine is Nokia!!!!
AND for the record, the only reason I actually have a phone is because my friend thought it was high time I made it to the 21st century and gave me a phone for CHristmas 2005!!!

ttfootball, lol. Did she call it a Metoo also? Gyul I only getting pommerac with worm in them. Yeah I got smelter last week. It kind of gone now though.
Chrankyputz, well I thought a phone was a phone too till I was laughed at. I’ve already started using it a lot so I think I’m going to get a better one. I know that getting a better one is very shallow and irrational of me, but I’m prepared to take the criticism, lol.

too funny…I have 2 phones, only because I wanted a bmobile SIM card to receive free calls while roaming and it cost TT$99, while the phone they giving away WITH The SIM card is TT$89. So now I keep losing 2 phones in my bag when I travel and I still don’t hear them when they ringing.
That $89 phone will probably be the new MeToo phone…for the record a Siemens A76. Have no clue what the features are.

Yeah Mani, I too held out on this latest craze/fad. LOL. Was waiting on competition fuss I hate TSShitty.
May I suggest the Sony Ericcson J300. It’s only TT$200 Pre-Paid with DIGICEL!!!!
It’s way better than many Motorolas priced at 5 times that price.
The menu is EASY to use and it has a whole lot of functions. True, no picture taking ability, but what do you expect for TT$200!
The ring tone is loud and you can create your own tunes. I created an annoying song (I call it my Techno-Reggae beat) that is now my alarm and it is so annoying everyone in my house now awakens when I do! Now, that is power!

Look, as long as the phone working it should be fine. Doh get tie up in dem Motorola Rzrs and all dat mess. I have one since summer last year and doh ask me how to do so and so. I still get mixup.
