The Vile

Kamla, Kamla, Kamla, how do I despise thee? Let me count the ways. I really don’t know what to say about this woman anymore, you know.

It bothers me that Kamla Persad Bissessar has little aversion to embarrassing the entire nation for the sake of political leverage.

On Thursday Indian Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat came for an official visit to Trinidad and Tobago and by the time he left Saturday night, he had received an earful from Bissessar about how Indians in Trinidad and Tobago were being politically persecuted.

I mean honestly, how dat reach dey? Despite how much in denial she may be about the Panday affair, and how quick she is to jump the gun with regards to the Chief Justice matter which is still before the courts, how does she justify running to the Vice President of a country that has no and has never had any authority whatsoever in Trinidad and Tobago - a sovereign state?

Obviously as an attorney and a former Attorney General she knows that India has no jurisdiction over Trinidad and that Mr. Shekhawat will under no circumstances get involved in the affairs of Trinidad and Tobago, so why even bring it up if not to embarrass the state of Trinidad and Tobago with unproven allegations?

Let’s say for instance that there was in fact political prosecution going on in Trinidad and Tobago, I’m sure that there are international channels reserved for seeking a resolution. How does she rationalize that this is the road that she must travel, that is, to involve the VP of a state that has no real legal or judicial ties to T&T?

So Kamla had to know it was pointless, so why bring it up? What could she realistically hope to accomplish?

I keep finding more and more reasons why I’ll never vote for her…like I needed more.

I hope that everyone had a good weekend, even though the Windies are sucking salt in Pakistan.

Oh my blood boiled when I read that in the news. How could anyone responsible say something like that?

The UNC does NOT and never will represent the views of all Indo-Trinidadians. They are a political party. They do not have a mandate to claim racial persecution on behalf of any ethnic group because of the legal troubles of their political leader - who has actually been PRIME MINISTER of this country. If we “Indians” were in such a repressed state in T&T that would never have happened. Even if there is disagreement over the CJ issue and the way it is being handled (and there’s always been conflict between the executive and the judiciary no matter who was CJ) frankly there seems to be at least some grounds or evidence to inquire into the matter, whether or not the conclusions (reached by our current highest court) is malfeasance or not.

I know I may be naive about the politics and idealistic about race relatons in this country, but that was very very poor form by Kamla.

Kamla quickly went from being a potential mentor to thousands of young females to the most vile caricature of a grasping, desperate politician in the country. Has she never gotten over being replaced as AG? Does she feel that to make it in politics she needs to play according to the “boys’ rules”? If so, she has surely not only learnt that lesson, but she has surpassed them in sleaziness. She should just retire and go back to Mr. Bissesar pipe. Remember how much outcry and condemnation there was when she said this? Imagine there was a time when people thought that THAT was the worse thing that Kamla could say.

I wish I could say that it surprised me when I heard it, but I’d be lying. It’s what I expect from her. But just as Chennette said, my blood boiled when I heard it.

But Kamla and people don’t know what true politics is and how to have love for Trinidad, they play this game of divide and rule and think that that’s how politics must be run in Trinidad.

Johnboy, exactly, why can’t Trinis be Trinis? Why can’t we all be her people?

Hottie, the woman is vile…that’s all I have to say. For all I care she could go back to he pipe all now.

Alexia, gyul, on to the next.

Mani said: “they play this game of divide and rule and think that that’s how politics must be run in Trinidad.” I totally agree with you. When I read what Kamla had done, I was was so mad, disappointed and surprised that someone of her stature would do say something like that. Talk about grasping at straws. If that’s the way she and her party feels, this was not the avenue to take up that claim. She really bounce she head dey!

Anonymous, we really need something in truth. Hottie, thanks for the link…I didn’t get to watch the video because You Tube gives me trouble sometimes plus I use dial up which kind of makes video watching a no-no. However I did download the song and I like it a lot. I never pegged you for a Fiona fan.

Law, if she bounce she head again? I think she knew that there were going to be repercussions though and decided to do it anyway. Because that’s how her brain is wired.
