$10 Man
So get this allyuh. The $10 man ketch meh outside. Really and truly I try to avoid this man. Because I know anytime he sees me he’ll want to give me a set of bad excuses. But last night I was standing by my gate talking to my cousin and I saw him coming down the road, but it was already too late. So he come up to me and smile and pointed his figer at me and admonished me, “Doh vex with meh. OK? Doh vex with meh.” I said, “OK, yeah doh frighten”. And with that he walked off.
He really feel I losing sleep over he? And is not about the $10 yuh know. Is the fact that he is a big hard back man and I find he shouldn’t be borrowing money from me.

you know i would have more respect for people like that if they come out and say i need “X” amt of $ and I don’t know if/when I will be able to pay yuh back. Doh lie an say ah go give you back next week or whenever when yuh damn well know you have no intentions of doing so.

Yeah,dred, that kind of nonsense you describe there is just what real annoys me about some Trinis. The fact that the man borrow money from you, promise to repay and then make one set of excuses is bad enough. But for him to come and approach you, smiling and telling you don’t get vex, that is plain a$$holeness. (If he had apologize, then the situation wouldn’t be that bad, but I’m assuming he didn’t even do that.)
And I bet if you had go and ask him about the money afterwards, he would have said- wham?? It’s only a little $10, whah ya getting on for?
Of course, then the counter argument is if it’s only a little bit of money, why he can’t even pay that instead of all the stories and excuses?
I know some people might think I reading too much into this thing, given that even the person who it happen to not too bothered. But I just think this kind of hypocrisy and deceit is too prevalent in our country, and at all levels too.

hy, No I agree with you…they so does borrow from yuh and want to turn around and want to make you feel bad because yuh want it back. And is ah whole $10 the man ask meh for! People doh beg for dollar again? I guess is the inflation.
