The Manicou Report

I used to watch TV6 news. Notice the use of the past tense. That was until I turned to CNC3 nes and saw what I had been missing.

I found out that CNC3 has actually devoted a large part of their newscast to the Soca Warriors in Germany.

It’s not just news, injuries and scores, but their newscasts also center on the impact that Trinidad & Tobago is having in Germany and more specifically in Rotenburg, their adopted town.

I’m not even sure that TV6 is aware that the Soca Warriors are from T&T. Let alone playing in the World Cup. Hello!!! TV6, are you guys even trying? I wouldn’t have known half the stuff that was going on in Germany had it not been for CNC3. They actually make me feel that I am not missing very much by not being over there in Germany.

Of course the man behind it all is the workhorse also known as Roger Sant, who is doing a spectacular job over there in Germany. Thank you Roger for making me look forward to the CNC3 newscasts and for saving us from that dreadful TV6 reporter known as Marlon Miller.

For one I think that this Miller guy is more of a writer than a talker - and that’s being overly generous - a generous benefit of the doubt. I’m assuming just for the sake of saving TV6’s face that he has a talent that CCN finds attractive. And I say that he must be more of a writer than a talker because this is evidenced by his absolutely horrible diction. He sounds like he’s standing at the bar with a Carib in his hand when he gets the phonecall from either Colleen Holder or Samantha John. Honestly where did they dig this guy up? At least find a reporter who can speak proper English and who can carry on a conversation rather than giving terse, unhelpful replies. It’s like pulling teeth. It’s painful to listen to.

I think that I’m now sold on CNC3 and I will continue to watch even after the World Cup is over. Good job guys. It helps also that Shelly Dass is the hottest thing on T&T TV, and Carla isn’t half bad either.
